After what felt like endless months

working from home and looking after the kids – with all the highs and lows of desperate parents – it's now time for a change of scene.

The youngest members of the family will spend some exciting days with their grandparents and we'll travel to the lake to relax and unwind.

Boat Shed Suite

We had already asked about the whole arrival process, parking, etc. in advance, so it all goes smoothly and without complications. While I look after the family car, my wife collects our room key and finds out what we need to know to begin with. When I enter the hotel, our luggage is already in our room and my partner is enjoying a cool drink on the sunny terrace with the sunshine on her face.

I let my eyes drift across the sprawling lawns which make me want to jump into the lake straight away, and then I see it.. our boathouse with the Boat Shed Suite on its upper deck! A dream.. if it was up to me, I would spend the whole summer here!

Boat-Shed-Suite

After this exhausting time in our lives, we purposefully choose Hotel Cortisen directly on Lake Wolfgang! On the one hand, because pre-teens are only allowed from the age of 12 years, and on the other, because this is the only place offering such a unique hideaway directly on the lake. This means there is nothing to prevent the two of us from enjoying totally relaxed days with just us!

We have already decided to start off tomorrow, the first day of our holiday, in a very special way. We have requested a tasty breakfast basket to be brought directly to our suite. And the kitchenette in our suite means we are already fully equipped and can enjoy an undisturbed breakfast for just the two of us directly above the waves of Lake Wolfgang.

During the day, we stretch out in the sun on sunbeds on the jetty and take a stroll or two around the emerald lake. We don't even need to leave our exclusive seats on the lake's shores to get drinks – on request, our drinks are brought to us directly to our sunbeds. But I do want to choose my afternoon slice of cake myself at the hotel bar.. it couldn't be more relaxing!

EVENING
Dining

In the evening, we enjoy local delicacies and international wines directly at our Hotel Cortisen and only leave the area for a late-night stroll along the lake. Back at the hotel, we ask for a wine recommendation and then take our bottle with us to our Boat Shed Suite. Wrapped up in fluffy warm blankets by candlelight, we watch the stars reflected in the waters of Lake Wolfgang and look forward to another relaxing day at our Hotel Cortisen!
